Moonrise and lunar eclipse at Tessellated Pavement

Hoping for a clear and warm starry night, daybreak revealed clouds, oh well we thought, we have all day and it might clear up, like yesterday.  As the day went on, no sign of any breaks in the cloud.  We left home, got to Pirates Bay, it started raining lightly, this is not good.

Had our fish 'n chippies at the blowhole and the sun came out but plenty of clouds to the east where we were expecting our moonrise in 40 minutes.  So we went around to the Pavement and found Deb, Roger and Donna down the bottom already.

The clouds lifted, not for the moonrise but pretty soon afterwards so we had a brief 30 minute or less window to take some awesome pics, well we hoped so anyway.

Here are three of my efforts.

After waiting for a while, ahahhh look who peeked out, well above the horizon,
you can see the thick cloud right on the horizon, but very pleasing.

I thought it much easier to take the moon pics while it was peeking from behind clouds
otherwise the highlights either blew out, or the foreground too dark for repair.

And this little one, we had packed up the car, about to go home and I saw this,
well I just had to unpack and recompose didn't I.
I actually thought these were blurry, lovely surprise when I saw them properly.

This last photo above, I received a lovely compliment from a photographer I really look up to, saying .......

Hi Jenne, long time no speak!  Happy Easter :)
