In the hope of an aurora, we set off for the beach near the canal at Dunalley, it was cold and chilly but the stars were magnificent and so close you could touch them.
Not much of an aurora unfortunately but we had the MOFO beams from Hobart to entertain us and apart from numb fingers it was gorgeous to be out.
Here are some photos of the stars and a small red glow from the aurora.
