We took a mini trip to Strahan over a three day period; the highlight being a Gordon River Cruise which neither of us had ever experienced before. Peter had wanted to do one ever since its inception some 30 years ago. We were blessed with fine sunny weather to travel to Strahan with and dawdled along the way with lots of photo stops.
Diverse scenery however the further we travelled west, the more rougher the terrain, it really is very special along this Lyell Highway. We stopped not far out of New Norfolk, then to enjoy the panorama of Mt. King William Ranges, Derwent Bridge for a wonderful pie, Nelson Falls and by this time we had to get a wriggle on to get through Queenstown (no photos) to Strahan before dark.

We arrived at our destination, Hilltop to find that our friend Andrew had upgraded our accommodation to a room with a view instead of our very standard no view room and a bottle of champagne and chocolates were awaiting us, courtesy of Andrew also, just WOW. And he said we had a surprise awaiting us on our cruise.....
