Scotts Peak Dam

Today we went for a drive to Scotts Peak Dam, just wonderful.

We left home about 8am under blue skies, we picked a lovely day.  Caught up with traffic into Hobart, should have taken the Tea Tree Road after all  **smile** anyway it was such a pleasant drive and we reached the turnoff to Scotts Peak Road in a couple of hours.

The scenery was magnificent, we passed through some spectacular ranges.  It became overcast the closer we got to these ranges with some sprinkles of drizzle here and there.  We stopped for lunch at the dam then went further along to Red Knoll lookout which gave us a 360 degree view of the Arthur Ranges, Scotts Peak itself, the bottom of Lake Pedder and Mt. Anne.

Our photos didn't do the scenery justice, to the eye the peaks were huge and detailed, in the camera they look small and insignificent.

The following is just a small selection.  I want to add a pano of the Arthur Range later.

These are "The Needles" unfortunately we couldn't get a clear view where they looked like jagged teeth
 and could not stop on the narrow road either, so we took these from the best vantage point we could.
