WOW, lucky us !
Unaware that there may be an impending aurora, we were about to settle in the the night
when we noticed that people were getting excited, we checked the 'map', took a test shot
out the back and waited half an hour until we saw a post saying "visible beams".
So off we went to Apex Point, our usual spot. We could see the brightness in the south quite
easily, and the moon was quite bright. No beams! Oh, well, so we set up, Pete was west of the jetty,
I was on the eastern side on the beach. The night was calm, no wind and a little chilly.
Nothing happened for probably 20 minutes, just the lovely glow, then ..... a little glow,
and another and another till they were dancing across the horizon, another beautiful show.
I took a lot of shots in the hope of making a time lapse. Lucky us were in the right place at the right
time because the show lasted from 7.20pm till 7.50pm - so many people were 5 minutes late
and missed it.

Over too soon, my feet were getting cold so I decided to
amuse myself while waiting for the next showing,
however it didn't eventuate, so we went home.
