Night of the Supermoon

On different times of the year the moon is closest to the earth.  Sunday night, June 23rd, was to be the night of the Supermoon.  Three photographers (Phil, Pete and I) walked to Crescent Beach, Tasman Peninsula, to view the moonrise behind Tasman Island.

Pretty pinks and silvery ocean

We were disappointed to see clouds building up on the horizon, blocking the moonrise, but still it was a wonderful experience to see the sunset colours followed by this intense silvery glow.

As the moon rose, very dramatic all the same and you can see the Tasman lighthouse light

On the way home, we stopped off at Carnarvon Bay to take some beautiful evening images of the various jetties.
